The CSI monitoring and evaluation (M&E) team and a large team of Haitian enumerators completed the data collection for the household survey, which began in November of 2011, visiting the final households on Ile à Vache off the coast of southern Haiti in mid‐February, 2012. The purpose of the household survey, which visited 1170 households across ten communes in the South Department, is to create a base of information on a wide variety of different factors of daily life in the CSI region. The data is now being cleaned and prepared for analysis in a baseline document.
The blacktop and gravel road from Port Salut to Tiburon is the infrastructural lifeline of over 120,000 residents who live in the southwestern area of the South Department.
